Chronology of an evolving being
In 1992 the British Paddle Association was formed by a group of passionate British expats seeking to compete in the 1992 World Paddle Championships.
PADEL CLUB LONDON (Canary Wharf) was located in the heart of London’s financial district as the first and only Padel Club in London. Hand in Hand with non-profit organisation PlayOn Sports, Padel Club London (Canary Wharf) featured four padel courts. Closed its doors in 2014
PADEL CLUB LONDON (Whitechapel) was located in the vicinity of Whitechapel as a perfect spot for city centre commuters, featuring 3 courts and closed its doors in 2018.
STRATFORD PADEL CLUB opens its doors and evolves overtime to become the first Padel-only dedicated club in London with a play&pay format. At the same time more padel venues are adapted and promoted within other Tennis clubs and public parks across London and the UK except in Wales
The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) finishes the integration process of former BRITISH PADEL and becomes the official governing body for player in the UK. Recognition of Padel as an official discipline of Tennis by the four Sport Councils.
Many more clubs and courts are opening across the country via independent or private investors or organisations
The expansion of Padel is growing strong and the LTA is looking to have 400 padel courts in place across Great Britain by 2023.

LTA PADEL TOurnaments
2022
The LTA Padel is the UK Governing Body in charge of managing all competitions, ranking points and help & funding to clubs among others.
Every club in the UK willing to organise a tournament will set out the dates, inform the LTA Padel and assign the points won on every tournament. Then the LTA Padel will update all rankings based on a full year's of competitions and results for every single player participating on every series of tournaments.
On this new season we're about to start, the LTA Padel has introduced a new variety of tournaments and grades to allow clubs and new players who haven't played before have a shot at scoring some degree of points while having fun in the meantime.
Grades are 1 to 6 up to number of padel courts every club has installed and their facilities and how many of them are indoors.
